THE FUNCTION OF EDUCATION
As is widely accepted, education is regarded as both an individual benefit & a social necessity.
It is a general view that everybody has the right & obligation to become educated We believe that, through education, an individnal acquires the knowledge, skills, attitudes & abilities, which will enable him to fit into society & improve his social status. Education helps to shape the society & develop the national strength. Very often, people look to education as the cause of personal & national success & the care of social & economic ills, holding the view that the future of the human beings depends largely on education.
In short, the system of education has three principal functions: teaching, research & public service.
