People often become close friends because they love the same book, much like how two individuals can become friends out of mutual admiration for the same person. An old proverb says, “Love me, love my dog.” However, “Love me, love my book” carries a deeper philosophy. Books are a more solid and noble bond of friendship. People can communicate thoughts and feelings through their common favorite authors, closely connected. Their thoughts are embodied in the author’s writings, and the author’s thoughts, in turn, become their own.
