1. quantity [ˈkwɒntəti] n.

n. 数量，数额，数目;量，数量;大量，大批，众多，大宗

构词：quant 量，数量 + ity 具备某种性质，状况 → (数)量

例句：The data is limited in terms of both quality and quantity.

这份资料在质量和数量上都很有限。

I was overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of information available.

query意为“提问”，较普通用词，指提出问题让人回答，多用于口语中。例：

He queried if she would join in the party.(他问她是否会参加聚会。)

inquire意为“询问，打听”，是较正式用词，指为了解真实情况而详细询问。例：She inquired the time when the national library would open.(她询问图书馆何时开门)

question意为“询问，审问”，指因感到可疑或为了解情况、弄清究竟而正式地发问，尤指就某一罪案进行盘问。例：The murderer was questioned for almost 2 hours.(凶手被审问了近2个小时)

question意为“问题”，通常指以口头或书面形式提出来要求回答或有待讨论解决的问题。例：The question is difficult to answer.(这个问题很难回答)
