1. recede [rɪˈsiːd] v.(recedes, receding, receded, receded)

构词：re(回，向后)+ ced(=go，行走)+e(动词词尾)→ 向后走→ 后退，退缩

v. 后退，远离;(问题、疾病、感情或品质)逐渐减弱;(头顶前部)头发停止生长，变秃

常用搭配：recede from 收回，撤回

例句：She watched his footsteps receded into the night.

2. receipt [rɪˈsiːt] n.(receipts)

辨：recent，modern，present，up-to-date，contemporary和current

recent意为“最近的，近来的”，指现在存在或发生的，一般只做定语，时间上的长短由所修饰的人或物决定。例：Recent events had no bearing on us.(近期的事件与我们毫无关系)。

modern意为“现代的，近代的”，时期可长可短。也可指“时髦的，摩登的”。例：She has very modern ideas about clothing design.(关于服装设计，她有非常新式的观点。)

present意为“现在的，现存的”，指正在发生、正在起作用的，语气最为强烈。例：The present international situation is worse than any that have gone before.(当前的国际局势比以往任何时候都要糟糕。)

up-to-date意为“最新的，新式的，现代化的”，指能够反映出当前最新的发展，一般用于非正式场合。例：Make sure your resume is up-to-date when you go to an interview.(当你去面试时，确保你的简历是最新的。)

contemporary意为“当代的，同时代的”，仅仅指当今这个时代，不涉及任何过去的时代，也可指不同的人或物处于同一时代。例：He was a contemporary of Lu Xun.(他和鲁迅是同时代的人。)

current意为“现在的，流通的，通用的”，指现时存在和发生的或当今时代的。例：The current reforms is very different to that in of previous years.(当前的改革与前几年截然不同。)

例句：There have been many changes in my hometown in recent years.

Recent events had no bearing on us.

近期的事件与我们毫无关系。

5. reception [rɪˈsepʃn] n.(receptions)

n. 接待(处)，招待，迎接;接待仪式，欢迎会;反应，反响

joint意为“联合的，共同拥有的”，强调双方或多方共同占有，侧重于一个统一体。例：It is a joint effort.(这是大家共同努力的结果。)

mutual意为“彼此的，共同的”，指在情感或行动上彼此是对等的，局限于双方的关系，强调彼此共有或共享，属于普通用词。例：The war was ended by mutual agreement.(双方均同意结束这场战争。)

common意为“共同的，普通的”，指两人或多人共同拥有，但彼此之间不一定是等价关系。例：We are struggle for a common purpose.(我们为一个共同的目标而奋斗。)
